Wilmington Area Local Happenings – January 2024

Buy

I have been culling local and national news articles for you, and want to share some that I find interesting and/or important. We are about to experience our cold week of winter here in southeast coastal NC! Everyone stay safe and warm please. I enjoy the spring-like days we have sometimes in January and February, a hint of the warmer weather just around the corner. And although I don’t love the cold, it does yield some beautiful sunrises over the ocean, on vacant beaches, with a lot of great shells and seaglass to be found!

North Carolina Coastal Federation

The North Carolina Coastal Federation earns the highest rating by Charity Navigator, the country’s largest independent charity evaluator. NC Coast is the charity that benefits from my friends and family referral program. Whenever you connect me with someone you know who is looking to buy or sell real estate, I donate $25, and when we close on their home, I donate an additional $500. My goal is $11,000 donated in 2024! Here is a link to the full article: https://www.thecoastlandtimes.com/2024/01/15/north-carolina-coastal-federation-earns-top-marks-for-fiscal-stewardship/

Pickleball

Pickleball is growing in New Hanover County! We have open play at Wrightsville Beach Park Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings from 7am to 11am. If you ever want to come out and play, please just let me know – I’m usually there on Saturday mornings (but I’m a fair weather player)! New Wrightsville Beach Area Restaurant

We all love a new restaurant! Chapel Hill owners of that area’s Four Corners will be opening a similar restaurant on Eastwood Rd, just before the Wrightsville Beach draw bridge. Everything is made from scratch and the restaurant has a sports theme, different from a sports bar.
